Scholarship Worth
- 100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living costs (rate to be confirmed). Some support may also be available for fieldwork expenses.
- Awards are made for the full duration of a student's fee liability for the agreed course. If your scholarship is offered for a course lasting more than one year, the continuation of your scholarship each year is subject to an annual renewal process based upon satisfactory academic progress.
- The scholarship is awarded to support a postgraduate student commencing a new DPhil course, although in exceptional cases MPhil applicants may also be considered.
- Applicants to the scholarship must demonstrate an intention to conduct research into sport for peace and development, as outlined above. The programme of study could be based in the Medical Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities Divisions.
- Please ensure that you meet the requirements for entry to your course, including English language requirements.
Apply at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting King Abdullah II of Jordan Generations For Peace Scholarship in the Funding Section of the University's Graduate Application Form.
In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline (6 January 2012 for Medical Sciences and Philosophy; 20 January 2012 for all other subjects) and you must have secured a place on your chosen programme of study by the expected final decision date (17 March 2012). Applications with an outstanding admissions decision after this date, or applications which are re-evaluated against the later March deadline field, are not eligible for scholarship consideration.
If you do meet the conditions outlined above, you will not be considered for the scholarship, even if you have selected Generations For Peace on the Graduate Application Form.

Selection Criteria
Candidates are shortlisted by the University of Oxford and then reviewed by Generations For Peace. Scholarships are awarded based solely on academic merit and/or potential, to candidates who have successfully demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to improving the lives of others through their education, with particular reference to understanding conflict in communities.

Generations For Peace is an international non-governmental organisation founded in 2007 by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein of Jordan and dedicated to the innovative and sustainable use of sport for peace building and development, and currently supporting activities in 47 countries and territories worldwide.
A key objective of the Institute is to expand its community of practice, establishing partnerships with universities, such as the University of Oxford, and providing scholarships and research grants to support study and research which contribute to the field of sport for peace and development.
