Scholarship Description: The PhD project will investigate the carbon allocation metabolism in cyanobacteria with the purpose of designing carbohydrate production in a manner this is useful for biofuel and biofeed applications. The successful PhD applicant will become familiar with modern approaches to microbial “green chemistry”, which include genomic, physiological, biochemical, and molecular analyses of microbial systems, as well as genetic and metabolic engineering of cyanobacteria.
